DHH Teacher | Chattanooga, Tennessee

An opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH). This full-time contract position spans the current school year, from early January through late May, serving K-12 students in a school setting in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role demands an on-site presence without hybrid or remote options.

Responsibilities include managing a dynamic caseload of students whose schedules may vary across multiple schools within the area. The teacher will provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of children from kindergarten through twelfth grade, adapting to their individual education plans and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications and experience desired:

• Active Tennessee Department of Education certification for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Proven expertise in instructional strategies and accommodations specific to the DHH population
• Experience managing a caseload in a K-12 school environment, ideally with varied age groups
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with students, families, and school staff
• Flexibility to follow children across multiple school locations as needed
