food manufacturing facility near Bakersfield, CA to hire an experienced
Maintenance Mechanic with strong
electrical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience in food or high-speed manufacturing environments. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.

Troubleshoot electrical systems confidently, including motors, sensors, VFDs, control panels, and production equipment.

Diagnose and repair pumps, conveyance systems, boilers, compressors, and other process equipment commonly found in food manufacturing.

Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly and accurately to minimize downtime.

Support predictive maintenance efforts using tools such as thermal imaging, vibration analysis, and ultrasonic testing.

Fabricate, repair, and modify parts using welding, cutting, and shop equipment.

Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, confined space, hot work, and food safety requirements.

Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Accurately document maintenance work, repairs, and inspections in the CMMS.

Assist with training operators and junior maintenance staff as needed.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification strongly preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability is required (this role will not be a fit for candidates with primarily mechanical-only experience).

Proven experience working with pumps, conveyors, boilers, motors, and production processing equipment.

Welding and fabrication experience required.

Ability to troubleshoot independently, communicate clearly, and work confidently in a fast-paced production setting.
