Job Description:
SUMMARY
Provide support to faculty and students in the Art Gallery. Greeting visitors that come into the Art Gallery and providing customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to faculty and students in the Art Gallery
- Greeting visitors and answering phone inquiries from internal and external sources
- Orders, receives, verifies and stores incoming materials and supplies
- Recording and cataloging art pieces that come into the gallery and arranging pick up at show closings
- Prepares the lab for use and monitors lab use during open gallery hours
- Scheduling the art exhibitions and other events in the gallery with scheduler
- Maintains art gallery in a clean and orderly fashion
- Sets up special demonstrations
- Creating wall tags and copy artists statements to be displayed with artwork
- May functionally supervise Work Study Students and Student Assistants in the lab
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- High School degree or GED
- Minimum of one year customer service skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Skills in keyboarding, basic math and grammar
- Basic skills in MS Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent Communication and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree
- Minimum two years customer service experience.
This is a Part-Time (1199/SEIU) Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 03. Part-Time (1199/SEIU) bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions.
