What You'll Be Doing

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic processes, and developing individualized care plans
• Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic health conditions, collaborating with physicians or taking the lead as allowed by your credentials
• Providing health education focused on prevention, wellness, and disease management for patients and families
• Prescribing medications and therapies within the scope of your practice
• Participating in follow-up care and chronic disease management

• Accurately documenting patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Required Certifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or its equivalent in a specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain them within 90 days)
