Junior Loan Underwriter

As our Junior Loan Underwriter, you will:

• Underwrite for online and direct consumer loans not to exceed the amounts established as maximum approval amounts for this position.
• Process online loan applications
• Assist branch staff with lending processing, products, policy and procedural questions.
• Maintain lending related questions, forms and procedures in the Silver Cloud Database.
• Communicate lending decisions to branch staff in a timely, professional manner and prepare appropriate documentation.
• Assist with training branch staff on the policies, procedures and lending systems in a prompt, professional manner, as needed.
• Assist branch staff with subsequent action forms and the Portico/Loancierge lending platform.
• Attend seminars and training as required
• Work with all employees in a team approach to fulfill the credit union's service quality standards.

Requirements:

• High school graduate
• Minimum three years prior experience in full-service financial institution
• Proficient in computer applications associated with the job
• Confident and ethical with a business-like impression and the capability to exercise tact and sound judgment
• Strong, positive writing and interpersonal skills
• Able to work without close supervision

Preferred:

• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
• 2-3 years prior experience in consumer lending and/or underwriting
• Knowledge of all current federal and state consumer loan regulations
• Thorough knowledge of the credit union's lending policies and procedures

Hours:

M-F 8:30am-6:00pm

Saturday (Rotating Schedule) 8:45am-1:15pm

Pay Rate: $25.25-27.25/hr
