EMT Paramedic

At Heartwood House Detox we are looking for a full time Paramedic to join our team for Mon-Friday evening shifts (2-10pm). We are a 6-bed fully licensed residential detox-only facility.

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Paramedic to join our team and provide the best quality care to our clients who are making the life-changing decision to get off drugs/alcohol.

Paramedics are responsible for new patient intakes, patient discharge, and collection of samples for testing. Other tasks that Paramedics are responsible for include monitoring patients' vital signs, including their blood pressure, pulse, respiration & temperature.

Paramedics are responsible for direct contact with patients. They record and update patient histories, keep track of how they are feeling and monitor their responses to medications and treatments via our EMR software, KIPU (this will include COWS/CIWA testing).

Paramedics will provide care, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures of the state of CA.

Qualifications:

• Paramedic Certification is in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
• Sufficient experience to carry out the duties of this position.
• Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
• Capable of maintaining regular attendance
• Provide proof of TB test results

Job Type: Full-time available

Wages: $30.00 to $33.00 /hour

Experience:

• Paramedic: 1 year (Preferred)
• Previous work in drug/alcohol treatment and/or detox facility (Preferred)

Certification:

• Paramedic (Required)
