HOW AN EQUIPMENT CONTROL MANAGER MAKES AN IMPACT
At GDIT an Equipment Control Manager provides operational leadership and oversight of program logistics execution to bring together technologies, solutions and sustained service to N&nC. The Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES) program effort is in direct support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).
NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands. NITES provides a full spectrum of enterprise IT services and management. Services provided will implement, among other DoD initiatives, zero trust at every level.
Primary Responsibilities:
Equipment Control Officer (Asset Manager): Manages asset management lifecycle and all associated activities including collaboration with warehouse personnel through the cost-effective deployment, inventory, maintenance, and secure disposal of enterprise IT assets. Provides and updates the ITAM Plan and associated reports. Verifies, audits, and analyzes IT HW and SW assets and develops and maintains necessary documentation such as Software Inventory Report, Hardware Inventory Report, and License Renewal. Develops and manages Audit SOPs for verifying and auditing the accuracy and completeness of the system of record and Asset Refresh Schedule for each device classification and purchase classification in accordance with the Government-approved process and policies. Supports the analysis and estimate reporting for the annual Software License Support, Hardware Maintenance Support, Technical Refresh and annual bench stock anticipated for the upcoming fiscal year. Analyzes and surveys all HW/SW warranties, capabilities, and associated maintenance plans for the purpose of ensuring there are no gaps in coverage to fulfill government requirements.
- Responsible for equipment maintained in the assigned Defense Reporting Activity (DRA).
- Directly responsible for all Accountable Property (AP) accounts and will perform all duties and responsibilities IAW DoD, Air Force, and Northern America Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) & United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) (N&NC) direction in regard to maintaining accountability of accountable IT property.
- Coordinate with host installation, appointed Investigating Officers, AP custodians, and Appointing Officials to conduct all Report of Survey (ROS) actions required for equipment retained under the DRA.
- Perform Accountable Property Officer (APO) duties for N&NC IT infrastructure equipment and all equipment required by the contractor in performance of duties required by this PWS. Conduct and document inventories at least quarterly for all assigned equipment.
- Perform warehouse, storage, and service asset shipping/receiving functions; store, inventory, package, ship, receive and deliver classified and unclassified IT service assets to provision and/or retire services in the Basic Service Catalog and those services provided to deployed and subordinate organizations. Receive assets and coordinate delivery of assets with Government personnel. Warehouse personnel shall in turn identify and report any damaged or lost items to the ECO. Coordinate Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requests with vendors. Complete the IT service asset AFEMS-AIM and/or DPAS accountability paperwork IAW AFMAN 17-1203 and coordinate completed copies between the APOs and ECO. Perform hardware relocation between HQ N&NC facilities and those facilities hosting N&NC hardware resources.
- Enable schedule and transferring of equipment to Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) to ensure timely and efficient turn-in of service assets that are retired or disposed of. Service Assets shall be scheduled for turn-in within 60 calendar days of retirement. All hard drives will be wiped clean of all data prior to DRMO turn-in.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position.
- Required Experience: 8+ years of progressively responsible, operationally-oriented program management in disciplines such as logistics, Air Force or DOD property book systems
- Required Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience in facilitating and achieving stakeholder consensus for property accountability, inventory management and warehouse management.
- Security Clearance Level: DoD SECRET Clearance Required
- Required Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
- Adept at interfacing with Government at senior leader levels and representing the interests of GDIT and N&NC.
- Understanding of Space Force policies, organization, and processes. Integration and alignment of Space Force policies, organizational constructs, and processes
- Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years management of warehouse, bench stock and maintaining of inventory with associated required hand receipts.
- Understanding of Equipment declassification process and procedures.
- Working knowledge of retirement and disposal processes and procedures for DRMO.
- Location: Colorado Spring, travel within the within CONUS sites if required.

The likely salary range for this position is $98,445 - $133,190. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
