Job Description
The Mortgage Processor is responsible for collecting, verifying, and accurately entering all information required to support credit decisions on residential mortgage applications. This role plays a critical part in ensuring loan files are complete, compliant, and prepared for underwriting review.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute all required regulatory disclosures in a timely manner.
- Order, retrieve, and review appraisals and flood certifications.
- Submit loan applications through automated underwriting systems and analyze decision results.
- Communicate with applicants, Home Loan Consultants, and Home Loan Assistants to obtain required documentation.
- Review incoming documentation for accuracy and update the Loan Origination System (LOS) as needed.
- Organize and review complete loan files and submit them to underwriting.
- Manage an assigned loan pipeline, ensuring contingency and closing deadlines are met.
- Partner with Home Loan Consultants to identify viable solutions while maintaining high credit quality standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate loan activity notes within the system.
- Request and review verifications such as VOE, VOD, and VOM, as applicable.
- Provide applicants with regular status updates throughout the loan process.
Required Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.Basic PC proficiency.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.Excellent customer service and pipeline management skills.Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.Working knowledge of Client, FHLMC, FHA, and VA underwriting guidelines.Required Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential mortgage processing.
