Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine NV

Are you a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving veterans and providing high-quality medical assessments? Join our dynamic team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine NV, supporting Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) in delivering crucial compensation and pension examinations across Nevada. This pivotal role offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on veterans’ lives, all while working independently in your own practice location.

You will conduct one-time non-treatment exams and health assessments, primarily focusing on interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments like range of motion and muscle strength testing. This role involves no prescribing or treatment, allowing you to utilize your general medicine expertise to support our nation's heroes efficiently and effectively.

Required Skills:

• Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in Nevada
• Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong interview and physical assessment skills
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule
• Excellent communication and report-writing capabilities
• Familiarity with compensation and pension exam procedures (preferred)

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience with Veterans Affairs or government contractors
• Certification or background related to compensation and pension evaluations
• Experience with medical documentation and report submission
• Ability to operate independently within your own practice location

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
• Prior experience conducting compensation and pension assessments is advantageous but not mandatory

Other Requirements:

• Must own or have access to a private office location within designated areas: Pahrump, Gardnerville/Minden, or Ely, NV
• Willingness to conduct exams within a 20-50 mile radius of your practice location
• Ability to complete exams on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling of ½ or full-day shifts
• Reliable internet and necessary equipment for report submission
• Commitment to adherence with all state, federal, and local laws applicable to the role

This opportunity offers a highly competitive hourly pay rate of $402, with flat rates of $600 for half-day (up to 4 hours) and $1200 for full-day (5 hours or more) shifts. Additional bonuses and travel reimbursements are included to support your professional goals and flexibility.
