  • Support targeting initiatives by tracking priority clients, prospects, and industries.
  • Coordinate activities aligned with firm and practice growth objectives.
  • Assist with tracking business development opportunities in the firm's CRM system.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data, including opportunity status and next steps.
  • Support reporting for quarterly BD and firm leadership dashboards.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to build the brand of practice groups and individuals in the market (speaking opportunities, sponsorships, conferences, events, media relations, etc.)
  • Maintain and update pitch content, experience databases, and standard proposal materials.
  • Track pitch outcomes and assist with post-pitch feedback collection.
  • Prepare business development materials, including drafting pitches, collaborating with attorneys on proposals, and managing and submitting responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Conduct research on prospective clients, industries, competitors, and market trends.
  • Prepare background materials and briefing documents for partner meetings and pitches.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to leverage firmwide campaigns, content, and collateral in business development efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement of business development processes, templates, and tools.
  • Assist with CRM adoption and data quality efforts.
  • Coordinate with Finance and other teams as needed for reporting support.
  • Coordinate and plan business development events at the firm.
  • Maintain and distribute tickets for client business development experiences.
  • Attend conferences and events on behalf of firm; develop follow-up campaigns with contacts created.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a similar field.
  • 46 years of experience in business development, sales support, or professional services, preferably in a law firm.
  • Marketing experience in the professional services industry.
  • Familiarity with marketing professional services to the public, preferably to law firms, and consistent with attorney rules of professional responsibility.
  • Familiarity with and fluency in various marketing media, including website design, SEO, and social media marketing on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, online video, and related media.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and preferred experience with the Adobe Creative Suite or comparable graphic expertise.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of grammatical rules for the English language and strong spelling skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, typing/using a keyboard, and writing by hand.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The position requires physical presence in the office with core hours of 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
