We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary :

Direct day to day management of the Collin College RN-to-BSN Nursing program. Maintain accreditation standards as well as meet compliance with SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) standards and principles. Facilitate staffing, assist with budget preparation and maintenance, facilitate curriculum development, recruitment, advising, and program marketing.

Required Qualifications :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate with the academic dean in strategic and academic cycle planning at the college, division, program, advisory committee and course levels, including development and maintenance of experiential and clinical affiliation agreements and clinical and experiential partnerships to augment the RN-to-BSN academic program.
  • Develop schedule of courses for the RN-to-BSN program each semester, and work with the dean’s office and Districtwide Scheduling to schedule classes, clinical sites, etc. to ensure delivery of the program in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure curriculum rigor through alignment with state board of nursing requirements, program-level and regional accreditation standards, evidence-based practice, and measurable student learning outcomes.
  • Direct day-to-day management and evaluation of the program, assigned faculty and staff, facilities and resources to accomplish safe and effective program delivery and coordination of division activities and projects.
  • Provide performance evaluation and review of full-time and adjunct faculty providing instruction in the RN-to-BSN program in agreement with college policy and accreditation requirements under the guidance of the dean.
  • Manage the on-going, systematic evaluation of the RN-to-BSN program, curriculum, learning resources, and student learning outcomes including data collection, production and preservation of program / student records.
  • Facilitate management and planning of the RN-to-BSN program budget. Work with the dean to make budget requests and recommendations. Ensure program remains within identified budgets. Assist the academic dean in the fiscal planning and management of the program and its resources.
  • Assist the dean with maintaining the Systematic Program Evaluation (SPE) for the RN-to-BSN program as required by ACEN. This consists of real-time retrieving of data from all nursing faculty committees, processing / analyzing the data for inclusion within the SPE and collecting and reviewing survey results from the Institutional Review Office (IRO).
  • Maintain accurate and complete program records including curriculum and resource evaluation and development, systematic evaluation, course evaluation, student evaluation, and accreditation documents.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance associated with the program's field of practice and education, including implementation of college policy and division and program procedures, compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board standards and compliance with appropriate regulatory and educational accreditation standards including production of accreditation self-study documents and reports.
  • Assist the dean in the operation of full-time faculty search committees and recommend to the dean candidates for full-time faculty positions as well as associate faculty and staff hires.
  • Foster positive human relations and teamwork among faculty, staff, and students across all programs and college services.
  • Manage appropriate student admission, advisement, progression, graduation, certification, and licensing processes for the program.
  • Attend and participate in professional development activities and participate in service to the college, including college graduation.

  • Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

    Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.     Requirements

    Earned doctorate or master’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or Nursing Practice from an accredited institution. Candidates appointed with a master’s degree must enroll in a terminal degree program within one year of the date of hire and demonstrate satisfactory progress toward degree completion.

    Minimum of three years of teaching experience in a professional nursing education program.

    Five (5) years of related clinical experience in a discipline of nursing required.

    Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

    Preferred

    Experience as a director of an associate degree nursing or baccalaureate nursing program.

    Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in an online environment.

    Licenses and Certifications

    Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas required.
