Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields
Experience
Preferred: 1-2 years’ boiler/chiller/mechanical work or related experience.
Skills
Basic Communication skills.
Ability to prioritizing workload.
Basic knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
Basic knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure.
Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs.
Demonstrates basic technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas:
Plumbing and fixtures
Electrical wiring, devices, lighting and motors
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and cooling towers
Steam and boilers
Pressure vessels and associated equipment
Generators
Medical gas and vacuum
Refrigeration units and ice machines
Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers
Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels
Chilled water and condenser pumps
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Active Driver's License
Preferred: STI Fire Stop Certified (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified)
Preferred: State License for Boiler Operator and/or some form of MEP Certification from an accredited trade school. Such examples include but are not limited to Vatterott College and Ozarks Technical Community College
