Telcom, Inc. is a growing technology company based in Columbia, SC. We specialize in delivering innovative low-voltage solutions, access control systems, and security technology for our clients. As our business continues to grow, we’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper & HR / Payroll Coordinator to join our team on-site in our Columbia office .
Position Overview :
This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing payroll, and assisting with HR functions to support our team’s growth. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time role within the next 12 months as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Process and manage bi-weekly payroll.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting.
Manage HR administrative tasks, including employee onboarding, benefits coordination, and maintaining personnel records.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to payroll and HR.
Support the leadership team with other finance and HR-related projects as needed.
Qualifications :
Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably with QuickBooks or similar software.
Knowledge of payroll processing and HR administration.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field (preferred, but not required).
