Expectations :
Assists the Laboratory Manager with the operation of the phlebotomy department by performing educational and phlebotomy procedures in conjunction with associated clerical and quality assurance functions. Acts as a technical resource and educational lead to ensure an efficient operation. Works with lab management to perform various administrative tasks that ensure section / shift operates in an efficient, effective manner. This position requires flexibility of hours.
EDUCATION :
Bachelor's Degree required.
EXPERIENCE / TRAINING :
Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting drawing patients of all ages. Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting preferred.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS :
Required :
Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I) certification issued by State of California.
SKILLS :
Exemplary communication and organizational.
Must have the ability to calmly and equitably moderate disagreements.
Maintain a positive approach to problem solving and be flexible in meeting new challenges.
Ability to multitask.
Strong computer skills.
Must have a strong background in education.
