MUST HAVES :

• 1+ years’ experience in registration / patient access
• Proficient with EMR software
• Experience with insurance verifications / eligibility (IPA’s, PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, etc)
• HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Day To Day :

An employer is looking for a Patient Access Rep in the Emergency Room setting. This individual will be cross trained on Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center in different areas / ”pods” of the Emergency Services area. Patient Access Representatives facilitate a positive patient experience by managing tasks such as insurance verification, benefits determination, and financial clearance. They handle responsibilities across Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, and more while maintaining all HIPAA compliance requirements. Strong social skills are essential for effective communication with patients and clinical staff in a demanding healthcare environment. This will be on site and must work every other weekend. There is one evening shift open 3-11 : 30pm and one night shift open 11pm-7 : 30am.
