Overview

The Officer, Client Advisor, Philanthropic Services will provide outstanding client service through support of a portfolio of private foundations, donor-advised funds and nonprofit endowments and will contribute toward the growth of the department and firm. On each client relationship, the Officer, Client Advisor will work under the direction of a VP or SVP, Client Advisor. If applicable, they will also work collaboratively with a Portfolio Manager. The position requires the ability to interface independently with clients and their professional advisors and exercise judgment as to when a Senior Client Advisor needs to be called in to handle a particular request. This role will require some travel (mostly in the western United States).

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Grants Manager for a portfolio of private foundations and donor-advised funds, under the supervision of a Client Advisor;
• Oversee tax / audit / legal / compliance matters;
• Initiate check / ACH / wire requests for payment of grants and expenses;
• Develop materials in support of board meetings;
• Provide comprehensive administrative support for our clients' grantmaking, including manage grants through our online grants management database, generate grant-related correspondence, conduct grantee diligence and research, coordinate / attend site visits, and monitor outcomes.
• Collaborate with members of Whittier Trust's Investment, Client Advisory, Tax and Accounting Departments, and with clients' outside professionals to provide necessary information and reports; and
• Ad hoc projects, as required.

Compensation

Base salary range

$85,000 - $110,000 annually

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience. Annual bonus, incentive pay and / or equity may also apply depending upon the role.
