The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Systems Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :
Developing integrations for software, data, and analytics systems in a team environment
Implement 3M software solutions and data collection historians on manufacturing lines
Support computer network concepts / troubleshooting
Interact with plant engineering, process engineers and controls engineer and technologists to assess the need for smart manufacturing solutions
Design, Implement, and Integrate PLC upgrades on manufacturing lines
Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel
Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost
Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Continuous Improvement projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, tier reviews and kaizens
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Two (2) years of Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Software Development, Data Analysis, Data Integration, and / or Manufacturing Process Optimization experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
Bachelor's or master's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Control Systems, Software Development or Computer Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Experience in one or more of the following : chemical operations, extrusion, coating and converting
Passion for SMART Manufacturing and Data Automation
Workflow Software integration, Power BI reporting, and understanding of PLC hardware architecture and Ladder Logic
Database skills with SQL scripts and stored procedures
Self-starter, results driven behaviors with strong oral and written communications skills
Travel : May include up to 5% domestic travel
Location : Springfield, MO
Relocation : May be authorized
