Job Details:
The Structural Engineer is an experienced engineering professional responsible for performing
structural analysis, design, and evaluation of substation and utility infrastructure projects with limited supervision. This role supports project execution, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers and designers while ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and company standards.
Position Overview
- Experienced engineer performing structural analysis, design, and evaluation with limited supervision.
- Supports project execution, coordinates teams, and mentors junior staff.
- Ensures compliance with industry codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of steel, concrete, foundation systems; prepare calculations, reports, drawings.
- Develop designs aligned with ASCE, AISC, ACI, NESC, client requirements.
- Review team work, support construction, conduct site visits, and field assessments.
- Assist in project scope, schedules, budgets, and documentation development.
- Promote safety and suggest improvements for safety, constructability, and cost.
Qualifications and Skills
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; licensed PE or ability within a year.
- 5-8 years of experience in structural design, specifically in substation or utility projects.
- Knowledge of structural principles, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, structural analysis software, and MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
