Job Title: Industrial Power Generator Field Technician
Location: Local Service Area (No Regional Travel)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Power Generator Field Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and natural gas generator systems within a local service territory. This position is home nightly and supports industrial, commercial, and municipal customers in the area.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on industrial generator systems (diesel and natural gas)
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues
• Perform load bank testing, start-ups, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
• Service generators from manufacturers such as Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac, MTU, Detroit Diesel, and similar
• Complete service reports, documentation, and customer communication
• Respond to local emergency service calls and participate in an on-call rotation
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and service equipment

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working on industrial or commercial power generators
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and generator controls
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience with ATS, switchgear, and paralleling systems is a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Factory training or OEM certifications (Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac) preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces
