What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our medical team by:
- Assisting veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians with patient care and medical procedures.
- Safely restraining pets while ensuring their comfort and minimizing stress.
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for examinations, diagnostics, and procedures.
- Collecting patient histories and accurately documenting medical information.
- Monitoring hospitalized and surgical patients as permitted by state regulations.
- Assisting with surgery preparation, recovery, and patient monitoring.
- Maintaining clean, organized, and sterile exam rooms, treatment areas, and laboratory spaces.
- Educating clients about preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans (OWPs), medications, and hospital services.
- Communicating effectively with the medical team to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Supporting and mentoring fellow team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred, but motivated candidates with animal handling experience are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of all sizes.
- Comfortable working around animals, medical equipment, blood, and bodily fluids.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays, as needed.

The pay range for this role is
$15.19 - $19.41 Hourly
