Compensation Range: $83,262.00 - $112,403.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, monitors, and improves efficiencies and services in the Department of Imaging. Combines the clinical acumen required to change practice with the leadership skills to influence clinical processes, systems, and outcomes. Examines effective models of imaging operations for opportunities for optimization and to decrease waste within the system. Identifies opportunities for improvements based on evidence-based practices, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and data analysis of high-risk, high volume, and/or problem-prone processes. Assists the Manager of Quality and Safety, and Vice Chair of Quality and Safety in developing, growing, and sustaining a quality program centered on patient safety, just culture, and continuous quality improvement.

Essential Functions

  • Partners with quality leadership in the development and execution of the department-based quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) annual plan, quality and safety initiatives, continuous quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Independently identifies and analyzes data to determine departmental trends and performance improvement opportunities. Independently manages RL Solutions Risk and Feedback files, including investigation and/or triage of actual and near-miss events to the appropriate clinical leadership. Independently investigates radiation misadministration events and drafts NYPORTS short form and submits to the SMH QA Office in a timely manner.
  • Assumes various responsibilities as needed to further the quality, performance improvement and population health goals of the department, including project prioritization, patient safety initiatives, education, reporting, compliance, auditing, data analysis, and other responsibilities as needs arise.
  • Independently facilitates small to medium-scale department quality improvement initiatives. Prepares presentation reports that provide summarized data trends and progress toward achieving project goals. Meets regularly with the Quality Specialist II and Vice Chair of Quality and Safety to share project progress, Participates in the development of abstracts and posters for submission to national conferences with minimal assistance from the Vice Chair. Serves as backup to quality leadership as needed, including independently conducting investigations and resolving patient complaints/events, interfacing with hospital Quality Office and Patient and Family Relations, participating on RCA teams and other investigations, This may include supporting technical committees, including CT dose optimization, MRI Safety, and Contrast Committee.
  • Maintains a current and working knowledge of image acquisition process and workflows for all modalities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience required
  • 2 years of experience at a managerial level required
  • Imaging/Radiology experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Licenses and Certifications

  • Lean Practitioner within 6 months of hire date preferred
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist, or Registered Nurse strongly preferred
