Physician Services Advisor

At Altais, we're on a mission to improve the healthcare experience for everyonestarting with the people who deliver it. We believe physicians should spend more time with patients and less time on administrative tasks. Through smarter technology, purpose-built tools, and a team-based model of care, we help doctors do what they do best: care for people.

Altais includes a network of physician-led organizations across California, including Brown & Toland Physicians, Altais Medical Group Riverside, and Family Care Specialists. Together, we're building a stronger, more connected healthcare system.

Altais is seeking a dedicated and proactive Physician Services Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary internal contact for all service lines provided by Altais to our network physicians. You will support the day-to-day administrative operations, provide exceptional service to physicians and office staff, and monitor physician participation from entry through their tenure with Altais. This position also involves advocating for current and future products, services, and operational processes, while promoting Altais' strategic goals, core values, and communications.

This position is a hybrid opportunity in Sacramento (in addition to Santa Rosa and Santa Clara as needed), and you must be able to travel up to 75% of the time within the region.

You will focus on:

  • Positively contribute to organizational and departmental strategies and goals, ensuring high-quality professional communication and timely service.
  • Act as an internal and external liaison, resolving challenges promptly and promoting positive relationships with physicians and office staff.
  • Communicate challenges and deficiencies on behalf of the physician network, escalating issues as needed and ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Serve as the first contact for physician network support for Altais' electronic network tools, deploying EpicLink and the Provider Engagement Portal, and providing education, training, and day-to-day support.
  • Participate in multi-department work groups, addressing access, quality of care, and claims issues, while documenting and tracking tasks for Physician Services.
  • Assist with onboarding new physicians and staff, handling account setups, agreements, and paperwork to ensure effective use of Altais products and services.
  • Facilitate and complete administrative tasks associated with physician and office staff requests, tracking and trending physician status changes.
  • Schedule and facilitate internal and external meetings to discuss and resolve relevant issues, promoting positive relationships between providers and Altais.
  • Educate physician practices on new and existing policies and procedures, including medical management review processes, claims payment policies, and clinical coding processes.
  • Review existing policies to ensure compliance, troubleshoot provider issues, and identify non-compliant providers.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Altais' services and product offerings.

The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring:

  • Required Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience of 4 years working in direct managed health care administration or Physician office administration
  • Minimum Experience: 2- 3 years of Patient and Physician portals and EMH or EMR system experience, preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in patient and physician portals and EMH or EMR systems.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and initiative within established policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of physician office operations, including interfaces and interdependencies between offices, health plans, and IPAs.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize duties and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and excellent customer service skills related to the complexities of physician practices.

The Base Salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000/year
