The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a driven Facilities Construction Coordinator II to oversee construction, facility renovations, and critical life/safety projects across our institutions. In this dynamic position, you will help steer a team towards success from design to deliverymanaging consultant partnerships, inspecting field operations, reviewing architectural plans, and ensuring full compliance with NDCS Engineering procedures and standards. Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction plus eight years experience in construction or construction inspection. Extensive work experience in construction business may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Other: Positions in this class must comply with all statutes and Nebraska Administration Code relating to the State of Nebraska Engineers and Architects Regulation Act, including, but not limited to Neb. Rev. Statutes 81-3401 through 81-3455, with particular emphasis to 81-3420 and 81-3421. Valid driver's license is required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
