• Work schedules will be created in 6-week blocks following the 3 weeks of training/orientation.
• Depending on the needs of the clinic, you can expect a shift to be between 7-10 hours during clinic operating hours.
• A typical work week will be two or three weekdays and every other weekend.
• This position also requires working on some major holidays.

Max Commute Time and Transportation:

• Commute times must be reasonable and sustainable. In general, managers will not consider candidates with commutes exceeding 30 minutes.
• Before submitting a candidate, please confirm they have reliable transportation. If public transit is involved, ensure the route has been thoroughly reviewed and is feasible for daily travel.

BLS Certification:

• LPN/LVNs must have BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Job Responsibilities of an onsite MinuteClinic LPN/LVNs:

• The LVN/LPN will perform patient registration and intake tasks, will assist with wait room management and other tasks to enhance the patient experience. Clinical responsibilities to include phlebotomy and specimen collection services, vaccine injection, patient assessment activities during intake such as vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests such as EKG and Retinopathy. Candidates must have previous experience with immunizations/injections.
• Please note: Nurses whose experience is primarily in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, home health, LTACs, and skilled nursing facilities may encounter challenges adapting to the MinuteClinic environment. Common areas of difficulty include managing multiple simultaneous tasks, limited exposure to standard immunization protocols, and unfamiliarity with navigating the EPIC electronic health record system. Do not submit candidates whose background is limited to these areas.

REQUIRED Qualifications
Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room.
Previous experience administering immunizations and injections and providing evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education.
Minimum of one-year related work experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record, preferably EPIC
Ability to take vital signs

Training:

The LPN/LVN will complete three weeks of paid orientation and training beginning on the start date. Training includes a combination of web-based modules, skill validations, EPIC system instruction, and preceptor-led activities. Subsequent weeks consist of onsite, side-by-side training with Clinical Staff colleagues.

Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications.

Evaluate complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses.

Apply advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.

Perform routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well-being.

Manage patient access to healthcare and connect individuals with community resources for medication administration, self-care techniques, and disease management.

Conduct medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.

Develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.

Accurately document patient medical history-including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history-using electronic health records.

Use your excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families and other healthcare professionals

Keep an organized, well stocked, clean clinic at all times.

Education
The LPN/LVN must have a full, active and unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
