Pay:

  • $23.00 - $28.00 per hour Job description: Location: 8100 Braddock Road, Annandale, Virginia Program Dates: 9-13-2026 – 11-1-2026 Schedule: Sundays (12pm to 12:55pm) Ages: 5–9 years Position Overview The Future Artist Instructor will lead a creative, engaging art program designed to introduce children to foundational art concepts and a variety of artistic mediums.
  • This role is ideal for someone passionate about inspiring young artists, guiding hands-on projects, and creating a positive, encouraging classroom environment.
  • Responsibilities Plan and deliver weekly art lessons suitable for children ages 5–9.
  • Introduce students to basic techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and creative expression.
  • Prepare materials and set up the classroom prior to each session.
  • Provide step-by-step instruction while allowing freedom for individual creativity.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Encourage students, offer constructive feedback, and support their artistic growth.
  • Communicate as needed with site staff regarding supplies, attendance, or class updates.
  • Manage cleanup and ensure materials are stored properly after class.
  • Qualifications Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, childcare, or similar).
  • Background in art, design, or creative instruction preferred.
  • Ability to lead a group, communicate clearly, and engage young learners.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage a structured classroom.
  • Positive, encouraging attitude with a passion for helping children develop confidence through art.
  • Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
