Toll Brothers, America's Luxury Home Builder, has an immediate opportunity for a top-notch Division Controller to join our growing team in Irvine, California.
The Division Controller position is responsible for overseeing all accounting and accounts payable functions for one division and serves as a key partner to division leadership. This position is hybrid, with 4 days required on-site.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Guiding all financial functions and other accounting/operational procedures within the Division
- Preparing and coordinating month and quarter end close process including projections/reports/analysis
- Business Plan creation, quarterly updates, and semi-annual re-forecast for presentation to Sr. Management
- Analyzing key company metrics of ROA, Gross Margin, SG&A and Operating Margin
- Reviews land contracts for FIN 46 applications
- Participating in regular monthly meeting with Land development team to discuss budget variances and cash flow projections
- Managing and Preparing the quarterly and annual budgeting process
- Reviews of monthly journal entries, monthly Division P&L, and variance analysis
- Partnering with Operations by supporting and preparing analyses required for operational reviews and land acquisition
- Providing analytical support to the management team to improve homebuilding operations and to identify opportunities for margin and return on investment improvement in areas such as revenue strategy, community investment structure, and timing & cost reduction
- Collaborating with Division President and other leadership team members for process improvement efforts driven to standardized processes in all aspects of operations
- Helping with coordination of back-office operations including payroll & commissions, purchasing/architecture, construction coordination, and sales & escrow coordination
- Performing in both the financial and operational segments of the business, devoting time to field visits
- Monitoring compliance with internal corporate policies, controls, and procedures
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Possess an understanding of traditional accounting and budgetary principles and terminology
- Attention to detail to ensure data is accurate and complete
- Able to manage multiple priorities while focusing on detail orientation and effective time management
- Experience managing and training a team
- Proven track record of managing complex processes with diverse groups of stakeholders
- Experience communicating with senior operational and accounting leaders
Essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years of professional Accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and Finance practices including job costing and strategic planning
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Confident working closely with Sr Management and corporate leadership
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in home building/construction
- Experience using JD Edwards / E1
The salary for this position is $150,000-$175,000 plus an annual bonus and a monthly mobile device allowance.
