Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation -

This position is for a skilled nursing facility and has both short-term and long-term patients. Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation is under new ownership and has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Helps residents by providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, psychosocial, and/or developmental impairments under the direction/supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.

• Maintains expected productivity/efficiency set by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.

• Monitors therapy services to make sure they are performed correctly and provides encouragement when necessary.

• Maintains patient occupational therapy records by recording the resident’s progress and daily notes.

• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility policies and procedures.

• Helps keep therapy equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.

• Serves and protects occupational therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

• Enhances occupational therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Current Texas licensure as an OTA is required
