The Field Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities at assigned job sites to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes and regulations. This position provides hands-on leadership to field employees and subcontractors while coordinating with Project Managers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

This is a traveling field position. The employee should expect to travel regularly to various project locations and be away from home for several days at a time during the workweek. Depending on project requirements, travel may also include multiple overnight stays and extended periods away from home throughout the month and year. Candidates must be willing and able to accommodate the travel demands of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Crew Supervision Direct and oversee field crews and subcontractors on assigned projects. Provide daily direction, monitor productivity, and ensure work is performed according to company and project standards.
  • Jobsite Management Manage daily activities at construction sites and ensure work progresses according to project schedules, plans, specifications, and established quality standards.
  • Safety Oversight Ensure crews follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety procedures. Address safety concerns promptly and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Material & Equipment Coordination Ensure crews have the proper tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles needed to perform their work efficiently. Coordinate deliveries and address shortages or equipment issues.
  • Progress Monitoring Track project progress and communicate delays, concerns, additional work, or potential change orders to management. Provide regular updates regarding project status and field conditions.
  • Quality Control Inspect completed and ongoing work to ensure it meets company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations. Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective action is completed.
  • Project Coordination Coordinate with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Workforce Management Monitor employee attendance, productivity, workmanship, and job performance. Provide coaching and direction to field employees as needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting Complete daily reports, jobsite documentation, time records, material records, safety documentation, and other paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Problem Solving Identify jobsite issues and develop practical solutions while communicating significant concerns to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Site Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles are properly maintained and secured.
  • Customer Relations Maintain professional relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders while representing Atlantic Tower Services positively in the field.
  • Travel & Field Support Travel to various project locations and provide field supervision and support as required. This position requires frequent overnight travel and may require the employee to be away from home for several days at a time throughout the week, month, and year.
  • Other Duties Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Ability to identify problems and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software preferred.
