Industrial Maintenance Technician, Packaging & Process Equipment

The French's Food Company (part of McCormick & Company, Inc.) is hiring a full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Springfield, MO plant. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is central to keeping our packaging and processing equipment safe, reliable, and efficient.

What you’ll do

• Perform complex mechanical work and intermediate electrical troubleshooting, including basic PLC/Ladder Logic/HMI tasks.
• Conduct breakdown analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Carry out planned/unplanned maintenance on production and facilities assets; complete basic-to-major equipment rebuilds and precise adjustments.
• Read and apply schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Serve on the emergency brigade for fires, searches, and/or evacuations as required.
• Report food safety concerns promptly to site leadership.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Schedule and compensation

• Now hiring for: C Shift — Sunday–Tuesday 7PM–7AM; Wednesday 7PM–1AM; or D Shift — Thursday 1AM–7AM; Thursday–Saturday 7PM–7AM.
• $1.50 shift differential.
• Rotating 12-hour shifts; hours can vary. Must be available for any shift as needs evolve.
• Overtime may be required daily and on weekends, sometimes with minimal notice.

Required qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; promotes teamwork and constructive discussions.
• Technical breadth: basic mechanical and electrical skills; breakdown analysis; basic/major rebuilds; troubleshooting; advanced equipment adjustments; fabrication; maintenance for production and facility equipment.
• Accountability, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset with demonstrated process-improvement and leadership ability.
• Analytical approach to resolving diverse equipment and system problems.
• Physical and environmental: lift up to 10 lbs up to 70% of the time and up to 50 lbs as needed; work in non-weather heat up to 50% of the time.
• Mobility/height: maneuver around equipment; climb stairs/ladders; work up to 45 ft on material handling equipment.
• Eligible to become a certified forklift operator.
• Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office; familiarity with planned maintenance practices.
• PAPR/Respirator may be required.

Preferred

• Technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance.
• Basic PLC, Ladder Logic, and HMI experience.
