Build what America stands on—one precise layout at a time
For more than a century, The Tarrier Steel Company has shaped skylines from our Columbus, OH shop. As our next Structural Steel Layout Fabricator, you’ll turn 2D drawings into real-world beams, columns, and connections that hold projects together.
A day in your boots
Clock in, grab your drawings, and map out the day’s builds. You’ll translate shop drawings into accurate layouts; mark, measure, and verify every line; fit and tack assemblies for final weld; and keep production moving by coordinating with welders and supervisors. Overhead cranes, mag drills, torches, and grinders are your everyday tools. Throughout the shift, you’ll double-check piece marks, heat numbers, orientation, and dimensions—flagging any material or drawing discrepancies early so the team stays on track. You’ll wrap with a spotless, organized work area and confidence in the quality that left your table.
