Who We ArePTI Technologies Inc. is a world leader in highly-reliable filtration and fluid control equipment and subsystems and miniature CAD/PAD devices, providing innovative, value-added solutions for a full range of mission, flight and life-critical operations across the Aerospace and Defense markets.Core ResponsibilitiesThe Chemical Lab Technician supports the development, testing, evaluation, and manufacturing support of aerospace and defense pyrotechnic and explosive powders. This role exists to ensure testing, processing, and documentation are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining lab equipment; preparing samples; recording test data to SOPs; following Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) requirements; monitoring PPE and safe handling of energetic materials and hazardous chemicals; performing chemical processing under supervision of chemical engineers; managing energetic material inventory and magazine N.E.W. limits; conducting destructive/non-destructive and environmental testing; supporting inspections (bridge resistance, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, visual, mechanical); maintaining records (calibration, waste, logs, reports); and supporting production chemical etching/cleaning/degreasing.Required qualifications:- Some college coursework in chemistry (or related) plus 2–3 years related manufacturing experience (or equivalent)- Strong English communication and basic math skillsApply to be considered.A Typical ShiftYou work onsite in Oxnard on a Monday–Thursday schedule, coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Production as priorities shift between development builds, qualification work, and acceptance needs. The day starts by reviewing the plan, confirming tooling and calibration status, and checking that materials and storage limits align with controls. You move between the lab and controlled process areas, keeping documentation current as results come in and raising issues early when data trends or conditions look off. Time is built in for housekeeping, waste and inventory updates, and preparing the next set of samples so the team can keep work moving without compromising safety or quality.
