Data Platform & Database Developer / AdministratorDepartment: Information Technology Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of ITPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Platform & Database Developer / Administrator to join a growing IT team. This hands-on technical role is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing the data infrastructure that supports business applications, reporting, analytics, and emerging AI , relational database design, data integration, and database administration, along with a practical approach to solving complex data , application developers, and cross-functional business teams to ensure critical business data is accurate, secure, accessible, and efficiently integrated across , improving existing infrastructure, and developing scalable solutions that support business & Administration-Design, develop, maintain, and optimize production databases and shared data environments.-Manage database architecture, schemas, indexing, query performance, and overall database reliability.-Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance issues to maintain system efficiency.-Establish and maintain database security, access controls, and data integrity standards.-Define database backup and recovery requirements and collaborate with infrastructure teams to validate restoration procedures.-Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database structures, configurations, and recovery processes.-Identify opportunities to modernize legacy databases and improve long-term & Pipeline Development-Design, build, and maintain data integrations between enterprise applications, ERP systems, warehouse management systems, ecommerce platforms, and third-party services.-Develop and support APIs, ETL/ELT processes, scheduled data jobs, and automated imports and exports.-Implement data validation, logging, reconciliation, monitoring, and error-handling procedures.-Map data sources, system dependencies, and information flows to ensure reliable data movement across platforms.-Develop reusable data services, database views, and pipelines to support business applications and reporting tools.-Reduce manual data transfers, duplicate data storage, and inefficient integrations.-Troubleshoot integration issues and implement solutions to improve data accuracy and system , Governance & Security-Establish and maintain technical controls that improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and availability.-Identify and resolve duplicate, conflicting, or incomplete data records.-Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish data definitions, ownership responsibilities, and source-of-truth standards.-Implement data validation, traceability, and access controls to support effective data governance.-Ensure data structures and processes align with organizational security and operational requirements.-Develop documentation and standardized processes to improve data transparency and reduce reliance on undocumented & Optimization-Evaluate and enhance existing data models, databases, and integration processes.-Support modernization initiatives involving legacy data systems and business-critical information.-Develop scalable data structures to support product information, customer records, operational data, and other enterprise datasets.-Improve the accessibility and usability of data for internal applications, reporting, analytics, and AI-driven solutions.-Identify opportunities to streamline data management processes and eliminate unnecessary duplication.-Collaborate with application development teams to provide reliable, reusable data & Technical Support-Partner with IT leadership, application developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support organizational data needs.-Coordinate with technical teams to ensure database solutions integrate effectively with existing infrastructure.-Provide technical guidance on data architecture, integrations, and database best practices.-Support testing, version control, release management, and rollback procedures for database and pipeline changes.-Investigate and resolve complex data-related issues across interconnected systems.-Maintain operational documentation and support procedures to ensure long-term system reliability. Required Qualifications & Experience-Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database design, with hands-on experience managing production databases.-Demonstrated experience with database development, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.-Experience designing and maintaining data integrations using APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, scheduled jobs, or comparable technologies.-Practical scripting skills for automating data movement, troubleshooting, and system integration.-Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and database architecture.-Experience implementing database security, access controls, backup and recovery procedures, and data-quality controls.-Familiarity with data validation, reconciliation, error handling, and monitoring processes.-Experience using source control, testing procedures, release management, and rollback strategies.-Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple systems and data environments.-Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.-Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.-Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and learn unfamiliar : A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not required. Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical expertise will be (ERP) or warehouse management systems (WMS).-Familiarity with NetSuite, IntraOne, or Celigo integration platforms.-Experience with cloud-based data services, particularly Microsoft Azure.-Knowledge of Power BI and preparing structured, reliable datasets for business intelligence reporting.-Experience managing product information, master data, or enterprise data environments.-Understanding of distribution, inventory management, or warehouse operations.-Experience modernizing legacy databases, improving data governance, or implementing scalable data integration , secure, and well-documented databases that support critical business operations.-Improving data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and overall quality across systems.-Reducing manual data reconciliation, duplicate records, and inefficient integration processes.-Developing scalable, reusable data services that support internal applications, reporting, and analytics.-Successfully modernizing legacy data structures and improving long-term maintainability.-Ensuring critical data pipelines are monitored, recoverable, and operating efficiently.-Building a dependable data foundation that supports future technology and automation , analytical, and resourceful data professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving the systems businesses depend , take ownership of technical solutions, and recognize the importance of accurate, accessible, and secure , is comfortable working with evolving technologies, and brings a proactive mindset to improving data infrastructure, integration processes, and overall operational efficiency.
