DTS Specialist (Direct Through Stock)

Days: Monday - Friday

Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary:

The DTS Specialist is integral to our operations, ensuring the precise management, inspection, and
coordination of Direct Through Stock (DTS) and specialized project materials through the branch
warehouse.

Essential Job Functions:

• Material Receiving: Oversee the accurate receipt and count of project materials, verifying
completeness and ensuring all components align with project specifications.

• Material Inspection: Examine materials for any external or visible damages, immediately
reporting and documenting any discrepancies.

• Communication: Collaborate closely with project managers to confirm material accuracy and
address concerns, providing relevant documentation and photographic evidence when
necessary.

• Freight Claims: Timely filing of freight claims within the same business day, ensuring all
stakeholders are informed of potential issues.

• Documentation: Utilize DTS-specific forms and ensure each receipt is thoroughly documented,
aligning with receiving processes for transparency.

• Storage & Inventory: Regularly audit materials on hand, verifying accurate bin location and
maintaining a clean and orderly DTS area to protect sensitive equipment.

• Testing & Inspection: Facilitate and provide access to material testing or inspections by
customers upon request and prior management approval.

• DTS Coordination: Ensure DTS materials are meticulously inspected, verified, and handled as
per company processes, from receiving to shipping. Collaborate with the Warehouse & Logistics
Manager to ensure inter-departmental compliance and communicate with Branch Operations
Managers to address non-compliant requests.

• Perform other duties assigned.
• Work mandatory overtime as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years in distribution, logistics, or a related field.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Electrical Supply Industry is an advantage.
• Analytical Skills: Able to make well-informed, data-driven decisions.
• Communication: Effective in communicating across departments and ensuring smooth
workflow and feedback processes.
• Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing operational demands and unexpected
challenges.
• Problem-Solving: Proficient in identifying issues and swiftly formulating effective solutions.
• Safety Orientation: Prioritizes and promotes safety in all yard operations and procedures.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to lift or pull up to 30
pounds, sit, communicate, reach, manipulate objects, tools or controls, climb ladders or onto trucks,
and/or operate wire cutting machinery and forklifts. The position requires mobility, manual dexterity and
coordination 50% of the time. This position requires employees to walk on concrete or other hard floor
(sometimes uneven) surfaces; stand continuously; pull heavy items in warehouse or yard; load and
unload trucks from ground level or platform. There will be repetitive use of hands/manual dexterity;
repetitive climbing; continuous repetitive kneeling and reaching overhead, above shoulder and below
shoulder; twisting and bending.

Working Conditions:
Office or warehouse environment. May be exposed to dust, heat or cold, and other environment
seasonal changes.
