Function in the Job: Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Position Summary: The Packer prepares customer orders for shipping.
- Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
- Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
- Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
- Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
- Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
- Properly stencils shipping information as required.
- Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
Required Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Physical Demands: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Certificates: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
- Other Abilities: Ability to work irregular hours.

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $22.66/Hr. - USD $22.66/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
