Are you ready to lead survey projects that shape the communities of Southern California? We are seeking a Survey Project Manager to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team delivering landmark projects across Riverside, San Diego, and surrounding areas. This is a unique opportunity to manage projects, mentor staff, and directly influence the success of high-profile land development and public works projects—all while growing your career in a supportive and professional environment.

Why This Role Is Exciting:

  • Lead and mentor a team of survey professionals, from field crews to analysts, on meaningful projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and client relationships with autonomy and impact.
  • Oversee surveying and construction staking projects across diverse private and public projects.
  • Collaborate with top-tier engineers, designers, and project managers, learning from industry experts.
  • Enjoy a culture of growth, mentorship, and fun while working on projects that make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to survey staff and field crews.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality results.
  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and manage contracts for survey and construction projects.
  • Review and prepare CAD drawings for boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land title surveys, as-built surveys, subdivision maps, and other survey-related documentation.
  • Process submittals with city, county, and public agencies, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate construction bid document preparation and manage contract administration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, public agencies, and internal teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in office mapping and survey project management for private land development and public works projects, particularly in California.
  • Strong knowledge of California jurisdictional codes, local municipal standards, and regulatory procedures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare construction staking calculations, take-offs, legal descriptions, closure calculations, boundary analysis, and exhibits.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily activities for field crews and coordinate with project engineers and survey analysts.
  • Schedule field staff, evaluate performance, and manage project budgets and contract hours.
  • Ensure staff adherence to project goals, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

Why is This a Great Opportunity

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life & Disability Insurance, Profit Sharing, and Personal Leave.
  • Opportunities for mentorship, career growth, and leadership development.
  • Team-building events, holiday celebrations, and a supportive workplace culture.
  • The chance to lead meaningful projects while shaping the future of Southern California communities.

This is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking, community-focused team where your leadership, expertise, and vision will drive project success—without revealing the company name until you’re ready.
