Kind Note: This role does not permit Visas (H1b, etc) and does not permit sponsorship now or in the future. This role does not permit 3rd party recruiters to apply or C2C.
This role is part of a collaborative development team responsible for building and maintaining shared application components used across high-visibility digital initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong PHP expertise, custom WordPress development experience, and the ability to work effectively within an established architecture.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and extension of shared, PHP-based application components

Support feature development for a high-visibility global news platform and related digital initiatives

Work within an existing component-based architecture to ensure consistency and maintainability

Develop and integrate custom WordPress blocks as configuration interfaces for shared components
-
Implement features aligned with documented design and UX requirements
-
Identify edge cases and participate in technical discussions to resolve structural or functional issues
-
Write clear, maintainable, scalable code within an established codebase
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to development best practices
Required Qualifications
-
Strong experience with object-oriented PHP, including designing and extending reusable application logic
-
Experience implementing business logic beyond templating or presentation layers
-
Experience with custom WordPress development, including:

Custom blocks
-
PHP-based block rendering
-
WordPress as an editorial/interface layer
-

Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and familiarity with TypeScript
-
Experience integrating PHP-driven logic with front-end functionality
-
Familiarity with React, particularly for editor tooling or interactive components
-
Experience working within established development workflows and codebases
-
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work on-site in Boston
