Job description

Position Description & Qualifications

Serco North America is seeking an Entry-Level ServiceNow Developer to support the development, configuration, and enhancement of ServiceNow applications across mission-critical systems. This role is well-suited for a recent college graduate with a strong technical foundation and a desire to grow within enterprise platforms and IT Service Management (ITSM).

This position offers structured on-the-job training and mentorship, providing the opportunity to build hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform while supporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality IT services.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the development and configuration of applications on the ServiceNow platform usingApp Engine Studio

  • Support implementation and customization of ITSM modules, including Incident, Change, and Request Management

  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow components such as:

  • Forms and fields

  • Business rules

  • Client scripts

  • UI policies

  • Workflows and Flow Designer solutions

  • Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and documentation

  • Collaborate with senior developers, system administrators, and functional stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot issues and support platform enhancements and continuous improvements

  • Follow ServiceNow development best practices, security standards, and Serco development methodologies

  • Maintain documentation for developed solutions and configurations

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software development concepts

  • Proficiency or coursework experience withJavaScript

  • Basic knowledge ofHTML, CSS, and web-based application concepts

  • Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts

  • Foundational understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT operations principles

  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic, internship, or project experience with enterprise systems or SaaS platforms

  • Exposure to low-code or no-code development platforms

  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies

  • Experience consuming or building REST APIs

Certification Requirements

The selected candidate must obtain the following ServiceNow certifications within six (6) months of hire:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
