If you are a talented and experienced Application Developer, David Aplin Group has the right opportunity for you! David Aplin Group has partnered with one of our well-established clients in Ottawa to recruit a talented Application Developer.
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Solutions, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the recommendation, development, implementation, and evolution of various solutions to help achieve the organization’s mission. One of the key responsibilities is to collaborate with other team members to find optimal solutions and will be working in an environment where cloud services are considered first and leverages the organization’s technology platforms to achieve business objectives. This includes the analysis, design, code, testing, and deployment of systems and applications and the associated documentation, training, support, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the team and stakeholders, as well as the IT Security Analysts and the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Analyst as appropriate, from across the organization to address business needs
- Assesses and documents systems and data architecture design options, makes recommendations and implements to improve program delivery efficiency and service quality
- Identifies and advises on alternative service delivery methods and improved service delivery
- Assesses and documents the impact of technology changes on the system availability, performance, and operations, and the end-users
- Codes, tests, and debugs computer programs and scripts according to specifications using programming or scripting languages
- Participates in user story development and prioritization with the Product Owner and team
- Analyzes the business impacts of various technology-related decisions and make recommendations based on the impacts
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science with emphasis on application development and data analysis
- One certification as a Professional Scrum Master or ITIL Foundations (or Scrum Master certification must be obtained with the first year of employment)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the system and application development field
- 5 years’ experience in computer programming in C++ or comparable computer languages
- Experience programming SQL statements
- Comfortable/Confident presenting knowledge to an audience of all technical levels
- Experience in meeting the evolving needs of a client/business with new technology
- Experience with implementing cloud services would be considered a strong asset
- Bilingual in French and English isn’t required but would be a strong asset
