We are looking for a candidate that can thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment. The Lexus of Stevens Creek Detailer has the opportunity to work with numerous luxurious vehicles, ensuring the cleanliness and refurnishing of new and pre-owned vehicles to dealership standards.

The Detail Apprentice Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Rate of $18.70.

This position is Full-Time and 100% on site at Lexus of Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities

• Performs variety of vehicle cleaning tasks such as (but not limited to) washing, polishing, buffing, interior cleaning, and window cleaning.
• Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
• Applies revitalizers and preservative agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot and stain-resistant chemicals.
• Cleans engine and engine departments with steam cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents
• Inspects quality of work performed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Uses proper eye, hand, and body equipment when using products that require protection.
• Operates tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reaches production objectives set by management.
• Assists in all other areas of the Department, as needed.
• Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
• Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.
• Report for work at assigned time in order to provide the level of service the Company's guest expect and deserve.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
• A minimum of six (6) months experience as a washer, detailer, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance, desired
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; pay attention to detail; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation, and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
