HEPCO Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assembler for our client to support production of advanced electronic assemblies in a full-time, onsite manufacturing environment. This role involves working with small components and precision tools to build high-quality electronic and mechanical assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electronic assembly, soldering, wiring, and interpreting technical documentation, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using prints, wiring lists, diagrams, routing instructions, and process sheets
- Work from engineering drawings and system schematics to complete assemblies accurately
- Perform electronic and mechanical assembly operations including wire termination, harness installation, cabling, and torquing
- Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards such as J-STD and IPC-610
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies following work instructions
- Support production and prototype builds involving circuit boards, modules, and connector panels
- Inspect, test, and adjust assemblies using hand tools and precision equipment to ensure quality and compliance
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and follow all safety and quality protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Trade School certification, or GED with 4+ years of related experience
- Experience assembling small electronic devices, including wiring, soldering, harnessing, and cabling
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of basic electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, and relays
- Experience working with microscopes and precision assembly tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on repetitive tasks
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to obtain and maintain ESD, material handling, and solder certifications
- Ability to lift, carry, and work in a manufacturing environment with occasional standing, bending, and reaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Soldering experience in accordance with J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
- Experience with through-hole and surface mount soldering, wire and terminal soldering, and crimping
- Experience with conformal coating, potting, or encapsulation
- Experience with electronic mechanical assembly and advanced soldering techniques
- Familiarity with tools such as spray guns, air brushes, and stencil equipment
- 1–3 years of experience as an electronic assembler preferred
