Location: Grayslake, IL 60030, USA

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Employment Type: Temporary to Full-Time Opportunity


Job Summary

The Assembly Operator I is responsible for assembling products to meet quality and production standards for both internal and external customers. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts and components as directed by the Cell Lead
  • Monitor production equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Communicate discrepancies or issues related to drawings or BOMs to the Cell Lead
  • Maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed production standards
  • Operate air and power tools as required
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure product standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and supplies
  • Empty cardboard containers and trash receptacles as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Skills & Technical Knowledge

  • Experience using:
    • Air and power tools
    • Measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, and gauges
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and carrying
  • Regular lifting of up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Continuous use of arms and hands for reaching and handling materials
