Job description

Position Responsibilities

:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including review of work performed by accounting staff and completion of variance analysis
  • Responsible for financial management reports, including internal monthly financial statements and internal reporting for management
  • Supervision of accounting staff
  • Oversee annual audits and tax preparation processes
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and improve team efficiency
  • Perform technical accounting research and provide written and verbal analysis to management, as applicable
  • Oversee treasury management functions including warehouse facility projections, cash utilization, and liquidity analyses
  • Assist in preparation and review of budgets and forecasts
  • Assist the Finance and Accounting team in key business projects and implementation of strategic initiatives
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 8+ years of relevant Accounting/finance experience
  • Experience managing people required
  • Experience in commercial real estate and mortgage banking preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems and CRM (i.e. Salesforce) preferred
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers and cross functional areas
  • Readily adapts to change and encour­ages change adoption among co-workers

The salary range for the Assistant Controller position is $120,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
