Warehouse Quality Assurance Technician
The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) is responsible for supporting both warehouse operations and field-based quality assurance efforts. This role is primarily warehouse-focused, including receiving, processing, and preparing flooring materials for installation, while also serving as a key resource in ensuring the quality of completed flooring installations in the field.
He/she is trained to inspect flooring installations, identify potential issues, and perform minor repairs as needed. The QA Tech also supports daily warehouse functions such as inventory control, order preparation, and material handling. This position will require both warehouse work and travel to job sites, and will occasionally involve picking up and delivering materials to subcontractors or customer locations. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Receive, unload, and process incoming flooring materials and shipments. Prepare and complete flooring orders for pickup by subcontracted installers. Measure, cut, label, and stage flooring materials accurately. Load subcontractor vehicles with materials and supplies for customer orders. Perform inventory control tasks including cycle counts and inventory tracking. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (if certified).
Drive a company vehicle to multifamily job sites to inspect flooring installations. Report unacceptable results and follow up on incidents to confirm resolution in a timely manner. Identify installation defects and, if able, remedy minor issues using company tools. Log all quality inspections and in-person customer interactions. Meet with subcontracted flooring installers to discuss installation issues and expectations. Assist with material delivery and pickup to and from job sites as needed. Meet with customers, including property managers and maintenance personnel, as required. Stay up to date on product knowledge and installation methods through training.
Perform all other duties assigned by management.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required to perform the essential job duties. Ability to lift and carry 5075 lbs. on a regular basis. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to perform basic math functions for measuring and cutting materials. Prior warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience preferred. Flooring experience (carpet, vinyl, etc.) is a plus, but not required. Forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Being fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred, although not required. Able to perform floor covering repairs if the need arises (training provided within first 3 months).

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen; to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, equipment or flooring materials and supplies. The employee is required to possess some dexterity in operating office equipment. The employee is required to sit and/or to stand for long periods of time; bend; stoop; climb stairs; reach with hands and arms; and frequently walk around a warehouse or office. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud, depending on the level of activity that is happening in the warehouse. The employee is required to dress for the temperatures in the warehouse, while maintaining personal safety and the ability to safely perform the duties of the job. Company-provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and the company's safety procedures are to be employed at all times. On a daily basis, the employee is required to safely operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts fitted with carpet poles, hand trucks, RF scanners, balers, and machines designed for measuring and cutting roll carpet and sheet vinyl. The team environment requires each employee to practice and maintain good personal hygiene.
