Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

The Production Associate builds pre-fabricated doors and door jambs by accurately measuring, aligning, and securing components according to specifications and quality standards. This role involves operating basic hand and power tools, reading work instructions and material pick sheets, and performing routine inspections to ensure proper fit, finish, and craftsmanship. The position is well-suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced production environment, and capable of safely lifting and moving materials throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate woodworking machinery such as table saws, planers, sanders, routers, chop saws, nail guns, and CNC equipment (with training provided as needed).
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood components for interior and exterior doors according to work orders and drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation, layout, and assembly of door frames, panels, custom components, and crates as required.
  • Inspect incoming materials and finished products for accuracy, defects, and adherence to established specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform sanding, fitting, and adjustments to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and proper operation of doors and frames.
  • Follow established quality procedures and promptly report any issues, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
  • Perform basic machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance on woodworking equipment under guidance.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Follow daily production schedules and meet output targets while maintaining quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth production workflow and timely completion of customer orders.
  • Assist with material handling, including moving large doors and bundles of mouldings, and staging components for assembly.
  • Support inventory checks by identifying, counting, and organizing materials needed for production.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn additional tasks and support different areas of the production line as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Basic experience using hand tools or power tools, gained through professional work or hobbyist projects.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and interpret simple drawings, work orders, and material pick sheets.
  • Comfort operating a chop saw and tape measure to perform precise cuts and measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods during the shift.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver large doors and heavy materials, frequently up to 50 lbs and regularly up to 100 lbs with proper technique and assistance.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, tools, and production processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of safe operation of power tools and hand tools in a production or construction setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in woodworking, carpentry, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with woodworking assembly tools such as routers, table saws, sanders, and nail guns.
  • Experience in door, cabinet, furniture, or millwork production, including framing, finish carpentry, or installation work.
  • Understanding of wood species, joinery methods, and basic finishing techniques.
  • Experience with router setup and operation for shaping or profiling wood components.
  • Experience in construction, furniture assembly, crate building, or similar hands-on fabrication work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

Why Work Here?

You join a growing organization that actively invests in your development and long-term career. Team members have clear opportunities for local and national career growth, with many leaders starting in entry-level roles. You can expand your skills through cross-training in different positions, gaining valuable hands-on experience with a variety of tools, equipment, and processes. The company fosters a positive and appreciative culture through monthly catered team lunches, birthday recognition with gift cards, and regular raffles for cash prizes. Holiday and year-end events help build a strong sense of community, making it a place where your hard work is recognized and your contributions truly matter.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse production environment within a door and moulding manufacturing facility. You work around woodworking machinery and materials, including table saws, routers, sanders, and other power tools, with exposure to sawdust and wood products throughout the day. The position is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting and maneuvering of large doors and substantial bundles of mouldings, consistently throughout the shift and at weights that can reach up to 100 pounds with proper handling. You spend most of the day on your feet, moving between workstations, operating equipment, and handling materials in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and warehouse environment is expected, with a focus on safety and practicality while working around machinery and heavy materials.
