MiraCosta College’s Biological Sciences department invites applications for one equity-minded, full-time (10 months per year) tenure-track, Biological Sciences Instructor - Human Anatomy & Human Physiology position beginning in August 2026.
Principal responsibilities for the position include instruction in Human Anatomy (BIO210) and Human Physiology (BIO220). The individual selected will share leadership roles with other full-time instructors in coordinating and developing curriculum, using culturally responsive pedagogical techniques, and in coordinating the overall program.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT :
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800 : Employee Residency requires all full-time faculty to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Compensation :
Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $88,852 (class I, step 1) to $148,747 (class VI-doctorate, step 10) on the 2025-2026 Annual Salary Schedule.
