School Bus Driver

Definition Under the direction of an assigned administrator, operates a school bus or transportation vehicle over designated routes within an established time schedule; transports students to and from school and on special events trips; performs daily inspections of a bus or transportation equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Requirements/Qualifications: Important note the Rialto USD Edjoin application has been revised. Please review all sections of the application to ensure that it is fully completed. Experience requirements: One year of paid experience in the transportation of school children, or the completion of a school bus driver training program. Recent job-related experience within the last five years is required. Education: Verification of a high school diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree is required at time of hire.

A complete Edjoin application consists of the following licenses, certifications or other requirements:

• Certification (Possession of a valid California School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol to operate a Type 1 Transit with air brakes.)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate - CPR must be an in-person course AND both First Aid and CPR must be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.)
• DMV Printout (A current "K-4" DMV printout dated within the last 30 days from DMV (Kiosk printout is accepted).)
• Driver's License Copy (Possession of a valid California Class B License with air brake, passengers, and school bus endorsement.)
• Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) letters of recommendation are required. The letters must be signed and dated within ONE (1) year. Acceptable signatures are: electronic document (Docusign or similar platform) or handwritten scanned signatures. Typed signatures will not be accepted.)
• Resume

Comments and other information: Note: All applications will be screened for required documents and minimum requirements. Foreign transcript evaluation individuals who have completed course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts/degrees, prior to applying for a position, and attach a copy to the application electronically. The foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the approved organizations, listed on the Rialto Unified School District website, in order to be accepted. These organizations are private enterprises who charge a fee for their services. Individuals pursuing a foreign transcript evaluation must follow the procedures outlined by the organization providing the evaluation. In all instances, original, official documentation will be required when requesting the evaluation. Note: To obtain examination credits, veterans must electronically attach a copy of a DD214 (proof of service and/or disability) verification to the application.
