Position Summary
The Business Analysis Expert provides senior‑level business analysis leadership in support of the Propel Program, PG&E’s multi‑year enterprise business and technology transformation.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA on average 3 days per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.
Job Responsibilities
This role serves as a trusted advisor to Propel leaders by:
- Conducts research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting in support of business decision making, strategy and operations.
- Works closely with the Value Management team in support of the business case, budget, and benefits analysis in support of strategy or change initiatives.
- Tracks budget and supports forecast activities in support of posting goods receipts and accruals in a timely fashion. Perform capital classification analysis to ensure proper accounting treatment of project expenditures.
- Investigates discrepancies and risk analysis for performance reporting to present findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
- Engages with the multiple organizations including Strategic Sourcing, Sourcing Operations, Capital Accounting, and other OCIO teams to support end to end contract placement and renewal activities.
- Performs analysis on highly complex data models that have cross-functional impacts to identify trends, visualize data, and determine actions by applying advance knowledge of wide range of issues.
- The Business Analysis Expert operates with a high degree of autonomy, shaping complex, cross‑functional requirements across multiple workstreams and releases, while mentoring other analysts and elevating analysis standards across the program.
- Works with and leverages relationships with Directors and Managers across Propel and PG&E organizations. Requires collaboration across business, IT, and external partners.
- Provides direction and coaching to other Business Analysts.
- Operates within a large, fast‑paced, multi‑year transformation program.
- May support multiple releases or workstreams concurrently.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 6 years
Desired:
- Graduate Degree or equivalent experience
- Utility industry, regulated environment, or large‑scale operational transformation experience.
- Experience working with System Integrators and external delivery partners.
- Demonstrated experience leading business analysis for ERP or major business transformation programs (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
- Business Analysis or related certifications (CBAP, PMI‑PBA, SAFe BA, or similar).
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity,specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Min: $122,000.00
Bay Area Mid: $158,000.00
Bay Area Max: $194,000.00
