Job description

SCM Procurement Professional II

We're more than aviation experts, we're pioneers. We challenge what's possible. From breaking the sound barrier to advanced tiltrotor systems. Today, Bell is shaping the future of aviation through specialized engineering. And we want you. We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, Bell's Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

Supply Chain Procurement Specialist - Amarillo, TX

Bring your experience and ideas and help us ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials. You'll be the key interface for subcontract administration of major systems and complex components for aircraft production, product upgrade and new program development. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to facilitate cost reduction initiatives that enhance the overall affordability and quality of our aircraft. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and all organizations across Bell.

What you'll be doing as a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:

  • Maintain comprehensive and current subcontracts, support purchase order management, competitive price adherence, and inventory analysis.
  • Negotiate complex subcontracts, financial terms, contractual terms, technical terms, and conditions with major suppliers.
  • Integrate with cross functional departments such as quality, engineering, manufacturing, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through robust communication to gain essential understanding of the business.
  • Utilize discretionary latitude within approved purchasing procedures and compliance for all contractual obligations regarding Bell Flight and the Supplier.
  • Execute standard purchasing procedures within an assigned commodity or supplier(s) to ensure the timely delivery of supplies and materials through management of open order reports.
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.

Qualifications Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • 3+ years of work experience with strategic sourcing or commodity management and/or contract experience or financial analysis or cost analysis of commodity/raw materials or understanding of direct/indirect commodity pricing or business operations or aviation manufacturing experience.
  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% a year or as business needs dictate.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft application suite, as well as ability to quickly navigate multiple computer software modules, such as SAP and Ariba.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
  • A strong desire to work on issues pertaining to acquisitions, sourcing, negotiations, and cross functional teams.
  • Excellent communicator; must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

We are looking for inquisitive and driven personnel who have a passion for military and aerospace.

What we offer you in return:

  • You'll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule
  • 80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO)
  • 120 hours Vacation time
  • 12-13 paid holidays per year
  • 6 weeks parental leave
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Access to Employee Resource Groups
  • And so much more

It's time to make your mark on the future of aviation. Join us on this mission, and let's make history together. We are on a journey to amplify innovation, cultivate purpose and bridge experiences by fostering a culture that is driven by unique perspectives, voices and values.
