Salary: $95,000 - $135,000 + Bonus Potential

Location: Olathe, Kansas (Remote Options Available)

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate water, wastewater, and resource recovery systems
  • Conduct facility assessments and technical audits
  • Analyze operational and utility data to identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Develop technical solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and operating costs
  • Perform equipment evaluations and process sizing calculations
  • Create and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, layouts, and conceptual designs
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and technical narratives
  • Support proposal development and project planning activities
  • Coordinate engineering consultants and design partners
  • Review equipment selections, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Support project managers and construction teams during project execution
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, and performance verification activities
  • Develop operations and maintenance documentation
  • Work directly with facility operators, vendors, contractors, and clients
  • Utilize Microsoft Project and other tools to manage project development activities and schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Water treatment
    • Wastewater treatment
    • Environmental infrastructure
    • Industrial process systems
    • Utilities
    • Design-build project delivery
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and project participants
  • Proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Microsoft Project
    • Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • EIT certification with plans to obtain PE licensure
  • Water or wastewater process design experience
  • Design-build project experience
  • Commissioning or retro-commissioning experience
  • Measurement & Verification (M&V) experience
  • CMiC software experience
  • Membership in WEF or AWWA
  • Board Certified Environmental Engineer credential

Candidate-Friendly Note

  • Experience gained through consulting engineering firms, contractors, municipalities, utilities, industrial facilities, infrastructure owners, or design-build organizations is highly valued.
  • Candidates actively pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel to project locations throughout the Midwest and Northeastern United States is required.
  • Travel may include site assessments, project development meetings, construction support, commissioning activities, and client engagement.
