Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer

BELONG. CONNECT. GROW. with KBR.

Around here, we define the future. We are a company of innovators, thinkers, creators, explorers, volunteers, and dreamers. But we all share one goal: to improve the world responsibly and safely.

Position Overview

KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative and mission-critical enterprise hybrid cloud solutions to our customers. You will be part of a dynamic team working on mission-critical systems that process and archive remote sensing data. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle, collaborate with multidisciplinary experts, and contribute to projects with global impact. This is an opportunity to grow your technical skills while contributing to mission-critical systems that support global Earth observation and remote sensing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the migration of physical and on-premises infrastructure to AWS cloud environments.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related fields, with a focus on AWS technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and best practices for AWS.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.

  • Experience implementing cost-effective, FinOps-aligned AWS cloud solutions.
  • Experience in automating and driving cost efficiencies in on-premises infrastructure.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
